All vests and bandanas are given away, thank you Healthy Peninsula!

Erica Garvey, Early Childhood Coordinator with Healthy Peninsula provided this information to share:

As part of the celebration, they are sharing safety vests and pet bandanas with nine towns on the Blue Hill Peninsula as well as Deer Isle and Stonington.
In order to promote health and safety for a variety of activities, like hiking during hunting season, safe walks or bike rides during dusk or dark, roadside clean-up, etc., for individuals and families.
The vests are blaze orange and reflective, sized to fit both children and adults. There is even a bandana for the family pet!
Blaze orange helps hunters to see people and pets. The reflective strips are essential when walking or riding when visibility is compromised by rain, fog, or dawn/ dusk.
The vests have a quote on the back, saying “A healthy inside starts by moving outside!”

With each vest/ bandana there is a card announcing a photo contest that Healthy Peninsula is holding to showcase the message of getting out safely. Information about the photo contest, along with where to submit photos are on the card.
