Amy Chase

During the month of October, come and see the amazing creations of Amy Chase! Her wonderful felted animals are now on display:

Read her artist statement below:

“My love of wildlife, along with my interest in playing with fibers, have led me down this path of creating whimsical felted portraits of native wildlife. These pieces use a combination of wet felting and needle felting techniques, along with the use of tapestry-type fabrics and a variety of fun embellishments.

Many of the backgrounds are wet felted, which is a technique that transforms wool roving or batting into a piece of fabric by using water, soap, and agitation (muscle power!). The animals themselves are needle felted, a process that uses wool fibers and barbed needles to ‘paint’ the species.”
