The library paths will be well lit the evening of Saturday, December 20th. At sunset, library staff will light paper lanterns (luminarias, or faralitos if you’ve ever lived in or visited Northern New Mexico) to celebrate the coming return of light as we prepare for the solstice on December 21st. The library will be open until 8 PM on Saturday, and the lanterns will guide you to the warm interior where there will be free hot chocolate, cider, and biscochitos. After this, the library will be closed until Friday morning, so make sure to stock up on books for the week.
