With over 12,000 titles, the HCDL is a consortium for the entire county, paid for and organized by the Friend Memorial Public Library, Blue Hill Public Library, Southwest Harbor Public Library, Northeast Harbor Library, Witherle Memorial Library (Castine), Jesup Memorial Library (Bar Harbor), Ellsworth Public Library, Bass Harbor Memorial Library, and Buck Memorial Library (Bucksport).
