June 7th from 1-3PM
Join us in the Circle of Friends Garden to celebrate the coming of summer, and for the rededication of brand new cedar benches. Have you enjoyed sitting in the garden over the past couple of years? Well do we have a something special for you! Over the last year, Catherine has been working with the donors of the original benches from the Circle of Friends Garden, as well as some new ones, to provide brand new benches for patrons of the library.
There will be a bench for E. B. White, paid for by Jon Dubin, who provided the original bench in 1996 and is excited to continue his support of the library and of the garden.
Another second time bench will be dedicated to William and Marie Louise Creighton, from long time Brooklin summer residents and library supporters, Michael and Betty Creighton.
A bench is being dedicated to Susan Lewis Dawson. Her daughter has provided money to make sure that her legacy of devotion to children and their literacy continues.
Finally, a bench is being donated in honor of June Eaton, who gave so much to the town of Brooklin, and in particular to the library. We are thrilled to be able to dedicate a bench to her.
The library hopes that this summer you come and appreciate the new benches, sitting in the garden as people have been doing for the last thirty years, and a very sincere thank you to the donors who have made this possible. We are eternally grateful for their continuing support of the Library.
We hope you will join us on June 7th from 1-3PM for the garden party.
