The fine ceramic works of Lila Balch, Martha Martin, and Cathy Rees are on display and on sale at the
library for the rest of December. Cups, vases, bowls, plates and more reflect the inspiration these artists take from the flora and fauna of the Maine coast. Their pieces are playful, elegant, and functional–displayed beautifully against the winter scene of the library’s back window. If you have lived in the area for a few years, perhaps you’ve seen their work displayed in Decembers past. Stop by again this year for insights into these three artists’ evolutions, how each of their practices has changed and grown while the art expands on the core visions of in which their careers are rooted. Pieces from these three artists make excellent gifts for friends and family who also find inspiration in the beauty of the area.
