Kanopy

The Friend Memorial Library is now taking advantage of yet another online resource. Kanopy! This online platform is used by libraries across Maine, and gives streaming access to thousands of movies and TV shows. Not everyone has a DVD player, and not everyone is local to the Friend Memorial year round, but with Kanopy, you’ll be able to make the most of your library card 365 days a year. There is truly something for everyone available with Kanopy, including the Inspector Lynley Mysteries, The Dick Van Dyke Show, classics like The Lion in Winter, and His Girl Friday, and even newer titles like, One Life starring Anthony Hopkins, and La Chimera, an Italian film about a man searching for a woman he lost.

Kanopy also has language learning skills, and features many of the Great Courses, including Egyptian Hieroglyphs, and Latin 101, as well as cooking courses like Food: A Cultural Culinary History, and Cooking Basics: What Everyone Should Know.  All Great Courses also come with supplemental reading material available through Kanopy, which can be used even after your access to the title runs out.
