Jeanne Bartlett

Join the library on Wednesday, June 17th at 4PM for a talk by author Jeanne Bartlett.

A Voice Downstream collects Jeanne Bartlett’s poetry and prose, her life’s work that explores nature, kinship, aging, loss, writing itself, and often the place these occupy within the larger world. Jennifer Militello, Poet Laureate of New Hampshire says ‘This is a book bursting at the seams with vivid pieces, all strung like bluebirds along the summer clothesline of this wonderful collection.’

Jeanne Bartett was born in 1929, and raised on a small homestead in NH. She raised 5 children with her husband and opened a handmade craft and import store called The Far End of Deering. In later life, she attended poetry classes, workshops, writing groups, she and her husband even sang in a performance of Aida with the Surry Opera Company. She now believes she has found her truest voice through the process of writing prose and poetry.

Please contact the library with any questions. Hope to see you there!
